Lulu is joining us this week to present a very special session on speed skating and crossovers. No matter whether you are just lacing up your roller skates for the very first time, or you are a seasoned skater looking for more time with the very best of coaches, you’ll get something out of this session.
Raw Meat Roller Skating sessions are always non-contact, and all roller skating skill levels are welcome. We teach roller-derby style roller skating, and you’ll learn all the basic skills you need to tackle the seawall and the derby track.
Skaters must have helmets, mouth guards, wrist, elbow and knee pads, and roller skates. If you don’t have gear but you want to try it, check out Rollergirl.ca. They can rent you the total package of gear you need to see if roller skating is for you.
Please note that you must have white or light toe stoppers, and must cover black knee pads with vertical strips of white tape. This is at the request of our venue, to make sure that we don’t mark the floor.
Raw Meat meets every Saturday from 5 to 7 PM at Thunderbird Community Centre, 2311 Cassiar St. Sessions are $7, and are always drop-in. Just grab your gear, and come on by!
See you Saturday!
