Raw Meat Roller Skating June 13: Summer Skate
Hey there! In town for Summer Slam? Why not drop by Raw Meat Roller Skating first, for a nice warmup? Everyone at every skating level is welcome. Just bring your gear, and come have fun!
Not quite tournament ready? That’s ok! No matter your level of roller skating skill, you are welcome at Raw Meat. We’ve had skaters come to us with their skates still in the box. We’ll help you learn the basics of how to stop, fall, jump, skate with others and more. You’ll learn all the WFTDA basic skills, and we’ll have some fun with derby drills and maybe a game or two.
If you are an experienced skater, don’t worry! We’ll make sure you get a workout.
About Raw Meat Roller Skating
We teach roller derby-style roller skating in a fun, non-contact atmosphere. You’ll learn to skate and have a blast! You’ll get pretty good too—a few of those rock stars at Summer Slam learn with us. (Hi guys! Come back and visit, ok?)
Skaters must wear full safety gear at every session: roller skates, helmet, mouth guard, and wrist, elbow and knee pads. Our sessions are always non-contact, but the floor doesn’t always listen to us.
Raw Meat meets all summer at Royal City Curling Club, 75 East 6th Avenue in New Westminster, every Saturday from 10 am to noon. Sessions are $12, and you are welcome to drop-in any time. Starting in September, we’ll change time and venue.
We only have two rules: 1. Be safe, 2. Don’t be an ass-hat.
